Redstone drive - June 13, 2009
This Saturday's drive included an MG and a Porsche ... but they were out-number by seven Corvettes.
The weather was perfect - light clouds and pleasant temperatures. The route included a wide variety of highway conditions - straightaways, curves, and climbs, with a bit of road construction thrown in to challenge some of the Z06s.
Route: From Grand Junction - South on Hwy 50 to Delta, then east on Hwy 92 to Hotchkiss. Hwy 133 through Paonia and Somerset, over McClure Pass and down to Redstone. Those from Grand Junction continued home via Hwy 133 / 82 to Glenwood Springs and then I-70 west. Folks from Montrose backtracked for a shorter route home.
Distance: Approximately a 250 mile loop from Grand Junction.
Driving time: Actual driving time wasn't logged. We left Grand Junction about 9:30 am and were home at 4:00 pm. Overall time included a 30-minute coffee break in Hotchkiss and a lunch stop in Redstone.
